World Class Gender clinic closes

Transgender medicine in the UK is in disarray as its world class gender clinic closes. Halfway through a review into transgender medicine for children in the UK, Dr Hilary Cass has shut down the only gender clinic in the country and cast a shadow over its safety.

The Tavistock clinic – which has been “the model for treating trans people around the world”, will be forced to close. Anew system of regional clinics will replace it, according to the Cass’ interim report,

Dr Cass is a former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, so she is well qualified to pass judgement on the activities of the controversial clinic.

“My interim report highlighted the gaps in the evidence base regarding all aspects of gender care for children and young people,” she said, “from epidemiology through to assessment, diagnosis, support, counselling and treatment.”

The Cass review points to a lack of collection of scientific data, a lack of psychological support and calls for investigation into puberty blockers that may interfere with brain and spinal development according to some recent animal studies.

One of the studies cited in the review indicates that puberty blockers could actually retard neo cortex brain development and spine strengthening in younger mammals if taken too early. While study was conducted on rats the researchers are now turning their attention to humans.

The interim report created by Dr Hilary Cass makes the point of stating that they are unable to report on puberty blocker data because there is not enough scientific monitoring being done in the clinic on this and the whole process. Hence why the close down of the Travistok central clinic in favour of a regional network to meet the demand in more timely and thorough manner, and to improve the collection of scientific data.

The review also noted there was a lack of concurrent psychological support for these young people. (Another recommendation in the report).

Consider Victorian Premier, Dan Andrews recent “anti-conversion” laws that would prohibit psychological intervention like it even though it is being conducted in the Netherlands along with the reassignment process.

Other countries understand the extenuating circumstances that could lead to gender dysphasia like trauma and sexual abuse, autism etc..

The interim report from the Cass Review does highlight the shortfalls in the system. There is no allowance for psychological counselling. Also, the real possibility of clients having a reduced capacity to make decisions due to puberty blockers based on studies. That is a horrific outcome. Also, the lack of scientific method and follow up proves that Gender reassignment has never been about the science it should be with these types of clinics.. it’s a social agenda.

EDITOR: The report is the proof that gender reassignment is a social agenda. Added to that the very drugs the kids are being plied with, are going to stop both the development of their brains and the ability for them to make the right decisions. No counselling while going through the process is just wicked.
